Assistant Finance Manager, Macau and Taiwan

Job Summary/Purposes
The incumbent is responsible for supporting the finance and accounting activities of Macau and Taiwan markets, including month-end closing, reporting, audit, tax, planning and daily operational matters. In addition, the incumbent acts as the Local Focal Point for the Taiwan market under the outsourced finance operating model, ensuring effective coordination between the local market, Regional Finance and the outsourced accounting provider. The role is expected to safeguard accounting accuracy, compliance discipline, documentation quality and timely execution across both scopes.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support month-end closing activities for Macau and Taiwan, including general ledger review, closing schedules, internal reporting and external reporting requirements.
- Liaise with auditors and compile statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS and MFRS, local accounting standards and applicable statutory requirements.
- Support and review lease management system data for Taiwan market, ensuring completeness, accuracy and proper alignment with finance, real estate and accounting requirements.
- Prepare schedules and work closely with tax representatives and advisors on tax returns, tax computations and related supporting documentation.
- Support and resolve critical daily operational issues for Accounts Payable activities for Macau, including payment matters, invoice issues, reconciliations and follow-up with relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate and prepare budget and forecast inputs for Macau and Taiwan, including expense assumptions, variance analysis, cost simulations and recommendations on corrective measures.
- Work with outsourced service hub for Taiwan under the outsourced finance operating model, coordinating local finance matters with Regional Finance and the outsourced accounting provider.
- Work closely with Regional Finance and share clear instructions to outsourced service hub for Taiwan market
- Act as key contact point of Taiwan market, ensure the accuracy of the full set of deliverables from outsourced service hub before deadline submission to HQ, including full set of accounts, bank reconciliation, sales reconciliation, explanation on fluctuations. Resolve local blockers and escalate delays, policy gaps or recurring issues in a timely manner.
- Monitor KPIs of outsourced service hub, turnaround times, error rates, open issues and remediation actions for Taiwan; participate in governance meetings with Regional Finance and the outsourced provider when required.
- Streamline processes and provide remediation plans for internal control gaps, recurring exceptions and operational inefficiencies.
- Support stock take activities and participate in ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Accounting with relevant professional membership
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Big 4 and commercial field
- Experience gained in retail and FMCG are preferred
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and knowledge of SAP is a must
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
- Strong analytical, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Self-motivated, proactive, able to work under pressure
