DevOps Specialist

JOB PURPOSE

The DevOps Specialist will be part of the Information Technology Department and will be responsible to support Ecommerce team in all DevOps activities, working with developers and the IT staff to oversee code release, to evaluate solution scalability and performance and continuously improve operation automation on Cloud infrastructure, Chace management, CI/CD pipeline and test automation. S/he is either a developer who get interested in deployment and cloud operations or sysadmins who have a passion for scripting and coding and move into the development side where s/he can improve the planning of test and deployment.

S/he will support all eCommerce platform programs and initiatives at WW level working closely with business and technology leads including product owner, Solution architects, Delivery leads as well as external providers and partners. The candidate will also operate as Cloud platform subject matter expert and will be the point person for all release, operation automation and SRE topics.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with Development to improve services availability, resiliency, and elasticity through monitoring, alerting, and self-healing systems design
• Help design, test and deploy technical solutions that are innovate and leverage new technologies to help modernize the platform
• Automating the installation and updating of software as well as maintenance tasks
• Continuously improve provisioning automation, CI/CD pipelines, and operational excellence in the cloud
• Implement and deliver solutions to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of our platforms. Solve complex problems for critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence
• Building tools to help keep track of server and application health
• Deployment experience in multi-tier environment
• Managing systems with large amounts of data - both relational and non-relational
• Programming/development experience including use of repositories (e.g. GitHub)
• Engage in service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning
• Experience building high-quality distributed systems or backend services on top of cloud environment
• Experience managing container environments
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools
• Build, test, and ship new infrastructure in support of Product Development
• Comfortable in an iterative environment, experience with Agile/Scrum based initiatives
• Work with engineers, architects, designers, and product managers in an Agile environment to turn our product and technical vision into a tangible solution every increment
• Experience in working with Adobe solutions, Azure API and Microsoft CRM is a plus

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or other relevant field

3+ years of technology experience in eCommerce organization with hands-on experience in designing and managing complex cloud and on premise environment

3+ years of experience in managing web server infrastructures and content delivery networks

3+ years of experience working in automating CI/CD pipeline and building and automating deploy environment

Proven experience in rolling out global application platforms

Experienced in agile delivery model and hands-on expertise with modern DevOps practices

Innovative thinking and the ability to leverage past technology experience to be successful in an entrepreneurial fast paced environment

Strong IT analysis and analytical skills
